Khartoum today- Elfasher- Nine people have been killed and seventeen others have critically injured after armed militias attacked tody a sit-in held in Fata Borno administration unit (16)KM west Kutum locality in North Darfur state(NDS).
The peaceful protesters in that area were calling for implementing several demands including security and deploy armed troops to protect the agricultural season.
The accident took place in the wake of departure of security committee of NDS who visited the sit-in square where it addressed the protesters but the visit was not fruitful , the spokesman of resistance committee said.
Abdoalsalam Mohammed Ismail told (Khartoum Today) that all security forces withdrew from Fata Borno as the result of another unrest happened in the city of Kutum, he added.
He also confirmed that the market was set on fire ,and cattle was robbed by the militias.
“Our people are now being killed, we do not have soldiers to take care of us, and to protect us from attacks” he said.
However , the governor of NDS issued a decree of impose the state of emergency in all the state along with forming an investigation committee to these accidents.
The governor also promised to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
