The International Criminal Court (ICC) has announced that the initial of Ali Mohammed Ali Abdulrahman who known as (Ali Kushayb) scheduled on next Monday 15 june 2020 in courtroom of the International Criminal Court, Kushayb will stand before the single judge Rosario Salvatore Aitala.
ICC said in its websites that during the initial appearance hearing, the single judge will verify the identity of the suspect and the language in which he is able to follow the proceedings. He will be informed of the charges against him. Mr Ali Kushayb will be represented by Cyril Laucci as Duty Counsel.
Kushayb was transferred to the ICC’s custody on 9 June 2020, after surrendering himself voluntarily in the Central African Republic, for war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed in Darfur (Sudan).
it would be recalled that the first warrant of arrest delivered on 27 April 2007 against kushayb and 50 counts on basis of his individual criminal responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
