The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Ibrahim Al-Badawi,called upon the US private sector to invest in Sudan in the various productive sectors.
Al-Badawi met with his office Wednesday the Chargé d’Affaires at the United States Embassy in Khartoum, Brian Shawkan, and the director of the USAID Mission Helen Baki.
Al-Badawi called on the American government to expedite the removal of Sudan from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
During the meeting, Al-Badawi thanked the United States for its $ 20 million family support program as part of the overall US support ($ 356 million)
Meanwhile The U.S. Government donated information technology equipment through USAID Sudan to Sudan’s Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning to improve the Ministry’s efficiency, information security, & communication with Sudanese citizens. U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Brian Shukan presented the equipment to Finance Minister Ibrahim Elbadawi & ministry staff. This donation is part of $356.2 million the U.S. Government committed at the Sudan Partnership Conference on June 25 to support Sudan’s democratic transition.
