The Sudanese Minister of Culture and Information Faisal Mohammad Saleh, the government’s official spokesman, announced Sunday the selection of governors in 13 states, and said that consultations are underway to resolve the matter in the remaining five states.
Saleh added in a statement, “The security conditions and acute tribal conflicts in some states have complicated the matter of choosing the governor and made the consultations move towards new options. The selection of some female governors faces severe difficulties and resistance from some states and political forces
