The United Nations- world food program (WFP),Sudan, North Darfur state, Alfasher office, has terminated arbitrary a Number of 110 personnel of security guard working in it’s different premises throughout the region and replaced them with a New security Crew . As the dismissal came suddenly on the date of 30th of June 2011, without any previous alert and notification letter
It Noteworthy, the security guard personnel have a signed an official working contract with agreed terms as noted in the convention
However, the dismissed staff has speedy formulated steering committee to demand and restore their rights in accordance with frames of the law . Indeed, the Committee hold a cordial meeting with WFP representative hopping for a satisfactory settlement, but unfortunately reached to the deadlock consequences, The Committee decided to forward the Case to the Court for justice.
The fired Guards committee has presented a law suit before district- court of Khartoum North through the advocate, Altijani Mohamed Ali. Where, they demand as following:
1- to pay their a whole benefits for overtime throughout the period of work ,and it’s vary from person to another according the services duration in the contract.
2- to pay salary of six months as compensation for the arbitrary dismissal
3- to pay the fees of attorney
4- to pay the fees of law suit at the Court.
In related developments, the plaintiffs has handed the Ministry of foreign affairs, A court letter to be submitted to the WFP for presence before the judge, but the Ministry didn’t declare the representative of WFP properly and ,therefore, the Commissioner never attend almost for three law sitting. In spite the Committee of dismissed staff were recommended by the National Assembly- The social affairs, humantrian and social promotion Committee, but there weren’t fruitful behind the attempt.
Hereof, The arbitrarily dismissal security guards of WFP, have appealed all the international and civic society organizations that Concerned with human rights to play their role so as to realize justice and end grievances of staffs as soon as possible
