The Sudanese Defense Minister Yassin Ibrahim affirmed at the opening of the joint security committee meetings between the states of Sudan and South Sudan that his country is committed to everything that was agreed upon with the State of South Sudan, especially the cooperation agreement signed between the two countries in Addis Ababa in 2012, and said that the implementation of that agreement is complete. It will lead to bring great benefits to the two countries, and bear fruit in support of common interests, especially in light of the major interventions taking place in the region, which require more coordination and unification of interests, to prevent tensions between intermittent agendas in the region and the world, he said.
On her part the Ministry of Defence South Sudan Angelina Teny pointed out the importance of improving relations between two countries as two viable states is the priority she has also mentioned that the two sides has agreed on implementation of remaining issues of Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) , which are nine issues agreed on 2012 in Addis Ababa .
