Some Sudanese security expert have concluded that the current investigation on the incident of the Prime Minister, Abdallah Hamdok, may delay due to the complexity surrounding the incident.
Speaking to Khartoum Today, General Mohammed Bashir Suleiman, says the nature of the incident seems to be complicated because, according to the preliminary reports, the attack was carried out in a professional way, and the explosive materials were made locally, which makes it difficult to determine the source which executed the explosion.
“Such issues may need more time because the attackers might have planned to hide information about themselves.”
Bashir however still believes, Sudanese security agents are well trained and through the assistance of the FBI, they would be able to reach to results of the incident. He said perhaps, the FBI team, who just concluded their trip to Sudan, might need a bit of time to go and analyze some evidence and circumstances surrounding the incident.
He concluded that some Sudanese soft terrorist cells might have been involved in the incident given the fact that there have been some ideological disagreement among different political groups in Sudan since before and after independence. “According to the current political environment in the country, it is easy to have such kind of incidents in Sudan.”
Another Sudanese Security Analyst, General, Hanafi Abdallah observed that through the security and intelligence cooperation with the American security agencies, such as CIA and FBI, we should expect a positive result coming out soon. “Sudan benefited from the international anti-terrorist training and they have great experience.”
However, Abdallah blame security arrangement of the protection team of Hamdok that day. “They are supposed to do a pre checking on the route, by using security measures which include electronic check, before the trip”
“Authorities played their required role after the accident, with technical work, gathering evidence, arresting suspects, investigations, analyzing communications, etc. It seems that the issues was not completed and might need a bit of time to analyze the evidence, that is why, he said that could be the be the reason which made the American delegation return without releasing any information about the incident or maybe they went back so they can use advanced equipment.
Even though Abdallah also believes in the capability of the Sudanese security in investigating crimes, but, but the implementation of the process seems to be with advanced experiences that go beyond their capacity.
