Surprisingly Last September On Wednesday, Jabra in southern Khartoum again witnessed heavy deployment of security forces searching the neighborhood. The General Intelligence Service (GIS) in statement confirmed that four suspected Islamic State-linked militants and one Sudanese security forces member were killed during clashes in a raid in Sudan’s capital Khartoum on Monday and four others were arrested .
This dramatic development in security situation took place Last week, as 15 suspects were detained during raids on a terrorist cell affiliated with Islamic State in Jabra and in El Azhari in southern Khartoum. Five security officers and a vehicle driver were killed. Another officer was injured.
This raises a big question that who is behind this terrorist group? and why it started its hostile activities now ? and which group belongs to?
It is very obvious the achievement made by the transitional government over the last ten months made the enemy of stability to block the for Sudan to go ahead on the police openness with outside world based on mutual interests and respects. This move required full support of all law enforcement agencies to speed up their procedure to deal seriously with such criminal acts in order not to lead the country to the decades of blacklist after Sudan get rid of it reminding 25 years on US list of states sponsoring terrorism .
From the government coalition on Tuesday, the Central Leadership Council for Freedom and Change affirmed in a statement its support of the fight against terrorism, but criticized the way the military handled the case and ignored “civil governance institutions at the highest levels”.
