Sudan Bar Association (SBA) has condemned the assault against lawyer, Abdallah Tabeer Ali Khamis, in Fao city during practicing his work for releasing arrested member of resistant committee at the police station.
The SBA notified in press statement, which Khartoum Today has obtained a copy, that at on Monday 4th May- 2020 number of military personnel assaulted lawyer Tabeer at station and used force against him despite his showing his identification card as a lawyer.
The statement described the assault as unacceptable behavior from the military personnel at Fao city particularly, adding that we live in state of law December revolution and we hoped after revolution that the Sudanese army and police protect the law instead of breaking it.
It is to be noted that this is not the first for the military personnel to assault lawyers as this practice has been repeated a month ago at the same city against one of the judges.
