According to recent studies the COVID-19 pandemic put several specializations at stake, not only to reduce the expenditure but because of the emergence of strong technological aspect which was not obscure before the pandemic represented by the artificial intelligence application in most of the companies.
One of those specializations which was affected is journalism.
According to news articles, Microsoft is to replace dozens of contract journalists on its MSN website and use automated systems to select news stories, US and UK media report.
The curating of stories from news organizations and selection of headlines and pictures for the MSN site is currently done by journalists.
Artificial intelligence will perform these news production tasks.
Microsoft said it was part of an evaluation of its business.
Microsoft, like some other tech companies, pays news organizations to use their content on its website.
But it employs journalists to decide which stories to display and how they are presented.
Tens of contract news producers will lose their jobs at the end of June.
But as a matter of fact, it is impossible for the artificial intelligence to be fully familiar with strict editorial guidelines, and could end up letting through inappropriate stories.
This is because the rate of innate intelligence of the human being is much more higher than the artificial intelligence.
It is true that the journalism and media in general will be subject to reshaping in the upcoming stage of its history, but it will never rely on the artificial intelligence to do the job.
The robot could be utilized in increasing the accuracy and fast finishing; but this could not be achieved without the innate intelligence and human brains.
During the COVID-19 pandemic the human professionalism was very apparent through presenting the messages and guiding the communities in the fight against the pandemic.
In short we think that journalism needs to utilize the artificial intelligence in accuracy, and speeding up the work
Last but not least we are sure that the artificial intelligence could never replace reporters.
