The Deputy Chairman South Sudanese negotiating committee, Dio Matouk, confirmed in a press conference held in Al Salam Hotel in Khartoum on Tuesday 14 July that mediation and parties decided to postpone the signing of initials on national issues.
Dio added the postponement of negotiations on issues that have not been agreed upon until the completion of negotiations on the file of security arrangements, which he said that there are some points that will be discussed in the capital of the State of South Sudan, Juba, and stressed that the signature will be close without setting a date.
He pointed out that a security delegation from Khartoum will leave on Wednesday morning to Juba to complete the negotiation of security arrangements, and said that these issues are not significant and will end in a few days, and then the initials will be signed, and he pointed out that the agreement that was now not the end of the peace process in the Juba platform He indicated that there is a second stage for preparing the matrix for the implementation of the agreement, which he said mediation and partners are beginning to prepare.
The parties have reached consensus after intense discussions in Khartoum on power-sharing, as it was agreed to allocate three seats to the Revolutionary Front in the Sovereign Council, in addition to five federal ministries and 75 seats in the Legislative Council in addition to 40% of the governance shares in the Darfur region of the Revolutionary Front and 40% of the government Besides 20% of the stakeholders of the people of the region, it is also entitled under the agreement of the Revolutionary Front to participate by 10% in the rule of the rest of the northern, middle and eastern regions of Sudan.
