He explained in the program (radio conference) on the National Radio ,Friday, that the transitional government inherited a heavy legacy behind the defunct regime, the most important of which is the external debt estimated at $ 60 billion, pointing to their design a program that is in line with the Sudanese conditions and not an implementation of the foreign monetary fund’s prescription as some promote .Also,He added, “What disturbs us the most is the suffering of our people in the economy, and we are working to address it.”
“We are implementing a Sudanese economic recipe, and that the government’s current economic program is“ a Sudanese recipe par excellence, ”Hamdok added, that the state was supporting (8) commodities.” ,PM said.
In related developments, He Said the subsidizing of commodities requires obtaining two billion dollars annually, and that his government does not want to live on grants and gifts and seeks to stop exports of raw materials.
The prime Minister has pointed out that,the existence of economic distortions in the country, including tax evasion and exemptions that were granted by the previous regime, indicating to the development of a program to address the problem of taxation to become one of the tributaries of the treasury, and declaring the absence of the Ministry of Finance’s mandate over public money. The Prime Minister stressed that the country inherited a burdened legacy 30 years ago. the defunct regime still dreams of returning, fighting the government.
Also, he said the the political transition that took place after the revolution in Sudan was smooth and not similar to previous transfers, and about the relationship with the Forces of Freedom reedom and Change (FFC) ,were One of the main components of the revolution. “I call on them not to be preoccupied with the partisan agenda and to build around the issues that bring us together.”said Hamdok
