President of National Umma Party (NUP), Imam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi has welcomed Juba Peace Agreement signed earlier this month between the Transitional Government and the Armed Struggle Movements represented by the Sudanese Revolutionary Front.
Within the NUP endeavors to make the implementation process of the agreement a success, Al-Mahdi said that the NUP has registered some observations, emphasizing the importance of launching a national peace conference to be participated by all political parties and stakeholders representing the war-affected areas.
Imam Al-Mahdi delivered those statements after meeting South Sudan mediation team led by the Advisor of South Sudan President for Security Affairs, Tut Galwak in the presence of the NUP Vice Presidents, the Secretary-General of the Party, NUP head and members of the political bureau.
