A first lieutenant was killed early Friday morning and five other police officers injured during a an exchange fire with a thief in Karari locality of Omdurman.
Al Sudani newspaper reported that police patrols in the Al-Fateh Police Department in Karary locality received a report of a robbery in one of the farms in their area. The source said that the thief returned to the farm and was able to hit the policeman who was guarding the farm with a Machete and managed to seized his firearm.
The same source says the thief then, went to the police station and shot the guard at the police station before headed to nearby mountain in the nearby area.
First Lieutenant Muhammad Ali, and his team had an exchange of fire with the thief which resulted in the killing of the officer and wounding three other policemen.
