Sudan’s second cabinet since the ouster of president Omar al-Bashir was sworn in Wednesday as the African country transitions to a civilian rule following nationwide protests that overthrew the autocrat.
The 25-member cabinet led by Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, which includes three women( among them Mariam Alsadig the daughter of former Prime Minster in historical leader Sadig Al-Mahdi ), took oath at the presidential palace in Khartoum.
Sudan’s Minster of Cabinet Khalid Omer Yousif stated that the new government will continue the economic reform that made over last year and a half .
“ During the past year and a half the transitional government has begun Some steps in the direction of dealing with the structural crises of the Sudanese economy It has not bear fruit yet, but we came to complete this track “Said Yousif
And in order to place the economic issue and living hardship at the top of priorities
Five ministers retained their positions—Defence Minister Lieutenant General Yassin Ibrahim Yassin, Nasreddin Abdel Bari (Justice), Nasreddin Mufreh (Religious Affairs), Yassir Abbas (Irrigation and Water Resources) and Intisar Segairon (Higher Education).
Hamdok did not name the Minister of Education, saying this will be done at a later date after further consultation.
