The Sudanese Prime Minister, Abdallah Hamdok inaugurated, Sunday wheat harvest in Algezira scheme, in the presence of the governor of Algezira state, Dr.Abdullah Idris al-Kinin.
Governor of Gezira Scheme Dr. Omer Marzouq said in a press statement to (SUNA) that wheat areas are 500 thousand acres with high productivity of 19 sacks weighing 100 kilos per acre.
Othman Hassan, the member of the Presidential Council of the Steering Committee of the Gezira Farmers Union, affirmed the State’s keenness to set a remunerative price for wheat that meets the aspirations of the farmers.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister reviewed the process of cotton harvest and some of the project offices that will be rehabilitated.
