The Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Dr. Al-Hadi Mohammed Ibrahim and the representatives of business sectors attended in the Hall of the Union of Businessmen, the forum for building partnership and cooperation between the private sector, international organizations and foreign aid agencies in Sudan, and interested in working with the Sudan’s private sector.
The Director of International Cooperation Projects of Sudanese Businessmen General Union, Mr. Mohammed Ishag, noted in a statement to SUNA that the forum briefed by the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation on the outcomes of the Paris Conference, asserting the importance of the participation of the private sector and international business organizations in Work to monitor and implement projects and all the expected investments in all fields.
He indicated the importance of directing portion of these investments to the small business sector, and encouraging youth projects and entrepreneurship.
Ishag pointed out that the initiative of the forum is to become an essential tool for building a coalition that enables the union to activate its role in pushing the agenda of reform of the private sector, coordinating efforts, exchanging opportunities in addition to discussing related challenges that could help in the comprehensive economic reform process, to support the Transitional Period in Sudan.
It is worth noting that the Paris conference concluded important outcomes for Sudan, including bridging loans and grants from France, Canada, the European Union, and the African Import and Export Bank, Afrexim Bank, in addition to some Gulf countries, with the liquidation of the arrears of the World Bank, which allows Sudan to be included in the list of acceptable countries to exempt its debts completely and lift the sanctions on Sudan completely.
