General Manager of Microfinance at the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) , Seif El-Din Berri, confirmed that microfinance is one of the most important tools that help in achieving sustainable development.
This came during a workshop held today, organized by the Central Bank of Sudan and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) at Al Salam Rotana Hotel, on the microfinance strategy for the years 2021-2025. Berri added that the strategy is comprehensive and covers the microfinance sector in Sudan
For his part, Professor Badr El-Din Abdel Rahim, Senior Adviser to Microfinance and Financial Inclusion for the Arab Gulf Development Program, said that the microfinance strategy for the years 2021-2025 was called the growth strategy, as it included several important axes, including the legislative aspect that deals with the enabling legislative environment for the sector, and how to create Stable, sustainable and effective microfinance institutions in society, technology, infrastructure and services for microfinance institutions and clients, in addition to the scientific leap for the microfinance sector so that its policies are based on solid foundations
