Hundreds of Thousands of protesters marched towards a number of areas in Sudan’s capital Khartoum ahead of an expected meeting between army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and ousted Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok on Monday, according to a Khartoum Today witness.
Demonstrators carried Sudanese flags as well as pictures of those killed during recent protests against last month’s coup, and shouted chants against Burhan.
Meanwhile thousands of Sudanese participated in new rallies that swept the streets of Khartoum, Omdurman, Khartoum North, and most other cities of Sudan to demand civilian rule.
The protesters demanded the removal of the military side from the government and the accountability of those responsible for the killing of more than 44 people since the start of the protests rejecting the decisions issued by the army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, on the twenty-fifth of October, according to which he declared a state of emergency and dissolved the Sovereignty and Ministers Councils.
It was considered effective political forces in the Sudanese street; Among them are the Resistance Committees, the Association of Professionals, and the Forces for Freedom and Change; The political agreement signed between the army chief, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok on the twenty-first of November, is a “betrayal of the revolution.”
