A total of 117 Indian nationals stranded in Sudan were evacuated through the two special flights of Bdr Airlines on 2 and 3 July 2020 to India. As a humane gesture and because of brotherhood and excellent partnership between our two countries-India and Sudan, Indian authorities allowed a Sudanese national ‘Mr. Mohmed Elkhair Elsayed Elhaghamid’ who is a Flight Captain and Director Training, of an India based company Zoom Air India and who was stranded in Sudan since February while his family, including small children were in India, was allowed to travel on board the Bdr flight that left for Delhi today 3 July to join his family in India. These flights were organised by Sudanese authorities to evacuate Sudanese nationals stranded in India. Embassy of India is grateful to all Sudanese authorities particularly Boarder & Alien Department and Asia Department in the Sudanese Foreign Ministry and also Khartoum Airport authorities for their support and help in the smooth evacuation of Indian nationals.
