Sudan’s long awaited civilian governors take oath of office, Monday
The long awaited Sudan’s civilian governors have taken oath of office, Monday, in Khartoum, before the head of Sovereign Council, Abdulfatah Al Burhan, and the Prime Minister, Abdallah Hamdok, and the Chief Justice, Neimat Abdallah Mohammed Khair.
The 18 newly appointed governors emphasized on the importance of achieving the objectives of the transitional period and established security and stability for all citizens.
“Now we tell our people that we are already a big step forward, one of the objectives of the revolution is to provide people’s pension in addition to eliminating all forms of the empowerment of the previous regime”, said Amna Ahmed Al Mekki, the governor of River Nile state.
“Elimination of empowerment of the defunct regime means to cut off all elements of the defunct regime from all the repression forms that existed.” Mekki added.

Khaled Mustafa, the governor of North Kordofan state, stressed the need to work together to enforce the priorities of the ten transitional period, which includes restoring the country’s dire economic situation.
