Minister or Finance, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badawi said that the ministry is working out a plan to amend the budget due the recent developments represented by COVID-19 pandemic and weak revenues .
He affirmed that the salaries of public servants will be cashed according the new salaries structure including the considerable increase approved.
Al-Badawi added in an interview with Sudan National TV Channel aired Thursday that the new salaries structure represents a new social contract with a category of Sudanese citizens working in civil service.
He confirmed that April salaries are deposited according to the new structure with the new increases and will be paid in the coming salaries.
The Minister revealed SDG30 million as support to the Ministry of Health, affirming that his Ministry had provided food baskets worth SDG2 billion and SDG3 billion to the families affected by the lockdown and the precautionary measures as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19.
He revealed arrangements to raise the ceiling of the ATM deposits and withdrawals in coordination with the Central Bank of Sudan.
He disclosed that they are working our a plan to control the inflation rate, affirming that the inflation has nothing to do with the increase of salaries, affirming that the raise ofinflation rate is due to the deficit of the budget.
He concluded that in 2018 the monetary mass was increased higher than its real weditions for three years adding that was a lot of overness.
