Muslims across the globe have started the holy month of Ramadan on Friday while Sudanese will begin Saturday, April 25. As the holy month begins, the entire humanity across the World is face with a serious health situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, which claimed lives of around 200 thousand people and infected 2.7 million people across the world.
Ramadan is well known as the month of blessings, mercy, cooperation and worship but it seems that COVID-19 has changed many of these values. Mosques are closed in many Islamic countries, including the Sudanese capital, Khartoum. prayers in groups, any other social events are also banned. For sure Sudanese people will not leave the noble values of cooperation during these difficult times as our country is passing through the phase of chronic economic situation beside the three weeks’ total lockdown that is we need to extend hands of support to relatives and neighbors so that no one can be left behind.
The experience of history indicated that by solidarity and cooperation people can overcome enormous challenges. It is obvious that implications of COVID-19 on the world is very huge and made the strongest countries shock for the economy and Health system when people woke up they a know that they need to provide more money in health sector than others as many countries came to conclusion that strong Health system not strong army is needed to protect life of nations.
I am very sure and may be others shared me the same feelings that despite the difficulties but the blessings of Ramadan will bring more charities and virtues and will become able to defeat all forms of hopelessness and frustration as The God will help us all to perform this holy month with words and deeds and religious rites.
I hope that our transitional government will take good care of vulnerable people and support them with all basic needs from Ramadan commodities as their happiness is ours it seems great when you share feelings of happiness and satisfaction with others. Again I appeal to my people to stay home, do more charity work and avoid gathering in all its forms. Your life is more precious than any job. Don’t go out because you don’t know where is infection of Coronavirus is. Let us work together keeping the distance to prove the slogan we are strong and together Against the virus.
